A Quick Guide to Select the Proper Actuator

Since the rules for the provision of smoke ventilation systems vary from country to country, the calculation and formula are listed below as recommendations for choosing actuator only.  Project manager should contact the local, district or state fire protection authority for the necessary requirments and approval before installation.

There are basically two types of actuators:

1. Chain actuators that is targeted for top, side and bottom hung windows applications.
2. Spindle & Rack actuator that is targeted for domes, roof, skylight, louver, tilting or very heavy top or bottom hung windows application.
